Specialized Education at Polk

Special Education teachers are licensed both in their areas of specialty and as highly qualified in the content areas for which they provide direct instruction. Special Education teachers provided specialized instructions for a number of students as outlined in their individual education plan. Depending on the service needs some students receive direct instruction using researched based programs outside of the classroom while others or remain in the classroom with support and modifications. We are also very fortunate and proud to implement a successful citywide program of two classes for students with Autism.
