Parent Teacher Association

What Does the PTA Do?

Information: The PTA helps keep families informed about all things Polk Elementary. We can also answer questions and help connect parents and families to resources.

Community: We organize our annual Scholastic Book Fair, host Back to School and Family Fun nights, and other events to bring our community together. In light of the COVID restrictions this year, we are working hard to deliver fun, yet safe, outdoor activities and events!

Advocacy: We work closely with Principal Carter, district officials, and our Alexandria network of PTAs to influence decisions that affect all of our students.

Financial: We reimburse teachers for classroom expenses, provide grants for teacher-led special projects, and contribute to city-wide efforts to support ACPS students and families.
